Fisher Price Aquarium Cradle Swing Motor Not Working
Time and money saving! Thank you!I've read some DIY instructions on replacing these motors but I don't have Glade automatic fresheners laying around the house and a soldering kit. Nor am I particularly proficient at soldering (I took one engineering class in HS; I don't even regard myself as an amateur).
When all is said and done, you'll easily spend $25-30 to replace one of these motors (not expensive in itself; but time consuming and can be a hassle).These motors are put together very precisely and professionally with the components for the swing (capacitor and diode) and we're very easy to install. Our swing works as good as new!I'd recommend these motors over the DIY method any day! A little tricky to install but glad to repair instead of replaceThis is a good price to be able to repair our swing.
I was very glad to get it working again so we didn’t have to buy a whole new swing.It was a bit tricky to get the worm drive running quietly - if I had to do it again I’d probably take some measurements of the original before disassembly. I think that part of the unit is pretty tight so it is more prone to rub a bit wrong even if it is slightly off. That said, I’m not a particularly handy guy and this was definitely doable.
100% recommend!!I have a fisher price snugabunny swing, we call it the family swing, it was used by 3 kids in my family and will be used by my son when he's born this month and will go to my cousin when she has her kid in a year. Well the motor went out while being used on the last kid lol I found this motor, all I used was a pair of nail clippers and a Philips screwdriver! Common sense I didn't use the instructions that come with it, I didn't need it. Took 30 minutes it was quick and easy soooo much cheaper then buying a new swing!

I love the functions of the swing, but will definitely never buy one new as I can't justify the cost for 4-5 months of use.Got the first as a gift. Used it 4-5 months and the motor went out. I thought that must be a fluke as I expect a swing this expensive to last longer. Luckily the store took it back and gave me a new one which I stored as my son had learned to sleep in his bed during the time we didn't have a working swing.Used the replacement swing for my daughter when she was born. This lasted about 4-5 months, then the motor burned out.When my next child was born I bought a used swing from a lady who had received a brand new motor head from fisher price because her motor had died. Used this swing with a new motor unit for 5 months and once again the motor died!When the motor dies everything else works. Music, mobile, just not the swing.

My sister had one of these and when I put my baby in it, he stayed quiet in it for two hours so I knew I had to get one! When mine came in one of the cords was worn through with the wire exposed and Fisher price immediately sent me a whole new swing by two night air delivery! My baby especially loves the birds on the mobile, he's always looking up and smiling. Great seeing, great customer service.The noise in the motor is only at startup, it's designed to be that way. Goes away as soon as it gets going. Don't expect the motor to work longer than 4-5 months with moderate usage.

Then it started swinging really really fast on speed 1. To days later completely stopped. Everything works but the swinging motion. What the heck. Amd now randomly it will start swinging again and then die.
I'm sure it's the motor. Now I'm out a very expensive swing and super upset. We are a family of 7 5 young children and one income so this is even more upsetting. I wish something could be done. We have always bought Fisher price with our children and never had this issue with things.
Fisher Price Aquarium Cradle Swing Mobile Doesn't Work
I loved this swing when I had my son 11 years ago, so I bought another one in the Spring of 2019 second hand from an original owner who had only used it for one baby. Within 1 month, the swing was struggling to move, and by the end of the 2nd month, the motor quit working altogether. I thought it was a fluke, so I bought another second hand from an original owner one week ago - last night, the motor broke on that one. I assumed I'd been lied to by the previous owners about use, but after reading other reviews, I think Fisher Price has gone cheap on this product. I was going to buy another one of these new, but now I'm going to buy a different brand.
Its a shame, because my daughter loves this swing. When it worked.
On a side note - it squeaks/creaks when rocking. My daughter is 13 lbs and it has been creaking since she was 8 lbs. Again, terrible quality.
